When Life Feels “Off”: How to Let Go of the emotional Baggage and Find Your Spark

We’re all spiritual beings traversing through this wild human adventure, each with our own quirky stories, relationships, and plot twists. I’m endlessly amazed by the clients I meet in my practice—everyone’s life is a one-of-a-kind novel, yet when we strip it down to the bare bones in a session, we’re all wrestling with the same gremlins: negative emotions that keep us stuck in loops, beliefs we don't even know we have that don't serve us positively, and a deep craving for real connection. You know, that warm, fuzzy feeling of being loved for exactly who you are—by others, sure, but mostly by you. That’s why I’m obsessed with my work. Every person who walks through my door drops nuggets of wisdom that I get to pocket and share!


So, what makes someone pick up the phone for help, especially with something like NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) or Hypnosis? Sometimes it’s a big, ugly event that left a scar or has you emotionally bleeding out for years. Other times, it’s a pesky little annoyance that won’t quit, or a friend or family member gently nudging you to find help. But most often? It’s that sneaky, “something’s not quite right, and I can’t put my finger on it” vibe. Those are my favorite sessions (not that the others are not as great, but you get me). Why? Because you don’t need to know what’s wrong or why you’re feeling off—just a spark of curiosity to dive in and explore. And let me tell you, it’s a blast.


A breakthrough session is like a treasure hunt into what makes you tick (or tock, or just… stop). It’s a chance to face the truths you’ve been dodging, and here’s the kicker: whatever you’re scared to confront? It’s never as big or bad as it seems from afar. It’s like being afraid of a monster under the bed, only to shine a flashlight and find it’s just a dusty sock. Those energy-draining thoughts or fears? They’re the same. We feel them—through that nagging discomfort or negative emotional baggage—and for too long, we’ve just shoved them down, clobbered them back into their whack-a-mole holes, only for them to pop up somewhere else when we least expect it, ready to mess with our fragile egos and create a bit of chaos in our lives.


When that happens, we tell ourselves, “Ugh, something’s wrong with me,” and dig an even deeper hole to toss those feelings into. Spoiler alert: that’s your soul, your unconscious, going full-on drama queen—sending telegrams, smoke signals, carrier pigeons, even a door-to-door delivery guy—to say, “Hey, we need to talk!” It’s begging you to clear out the junk so you can make room for the good stuff in life.


So, let’s quit dowsing those messages and lean in! The process is way easier than you’d think, and the shift happens fast—if you’re game. No one can make that call for you, and once you do, it’s all about taking radical responsibility for your life, your triggers, your choices. But here’s the good news: you don’t have to do it solo. We’re surrounded by love and support if you’re open to it, and there are tons of awesome folks with tools to help you master your inner world.
